Internal Staff Billing Against Project

Recently i've been hearing how agencies bill internal staff time against a project.

This is a simple but necessary step to see staff availability, project costs, and FTE needs.

This also is necessary to track project budget. they create an estimate at the start of the project for the budgeted amount of their internal FTE expenses, then these daily logs show the cost of internal staff against the project.

Iowa City shared how they do it. It's a basic inhouse form developed that then pushes to their ERP (Tyler Munis). I've shared the interface of this form they have.

Each "account" (role) has an assigned hourly rate

The Staff then looks up the "project" which has a specific project code associated to it

they then enter the time spent per project per day
